WHO

Noura Tafeche
is an artist, an independent scholar and a wannabe prankster.
She works in between enclyclopedic-themed drawings, public installations
and research on the subject of transcultural studies, unconventional art, online visual cultures and speculative theories.

Her background stems out of post-human and critical studies,
hybridized with linguistics, art history and radical humor.
She's currently studying to obtain MA in Philosophy.

WHAT

Noura’s drawings are mainly miniatures where she conveys different themes based on studies on transcultural
process, linguistic relativity and critical approaches towards the society of mass surveillance.
Simultaneously she explores new visual forms of public protests though her ongoing project Los Globos Artivistas.
Alongside she experiments the different facets of the Radical Tenderness, an emergent topic which carries the value of intimacy and care as a political practice, in particular she curates Micro Regali di Strada,
a public performance
of relational art consisting in publicly and anonimously leaving gifts all over the streets.
In 2018 she co-founded
Centro di Cultura Araba,
a no-profit organization based in Milan, established
to spread the culture of Arab art, literature, knowledge and aesthetics, with the ambition to create the first public
Italian-Arabic library and documentation centre in the area.

Currently she’s developing her ongoing project Surveillance Kawaii, initiated in 2017 and debuted at Yami Ichi during the annual The Influencers Festival hosted at CCCB, Barcelona.
