MICRO REGALI DI STRADA

2019 - ongoing

Micro Regali di Strada is a relational art project consisting in publicly and anonimously leaving tiny presents to the inhabitants of the city, as an act of selfless care and unexpected kindness.

Micro Regali di Strada aims to encourage experimenting, individually and collectively, a public act of Radical Tenderness, an emerging theme that carries the value of intimacy and care as a political practice.

Micro Regali di Strada interacts with urban architecture, aims to put trust back into circulation and helps to interrupt the spiral of mandatory gratitude creating chances to tie unconventional relationships.

Founding Sentiments | Principles

- They are relational beings

- They are miniatures

- They correspond to an act of freedom

- They represent an intimate exchange but
   an anonymous one

- Each gift is unique

- They represent a selfless act of care

- You can give a tiny little gift and not                   expecting one back

- You can receive a tiny little gift and you are
   entitled to not reciprocate

- It's the attention to reward who comes             across the tiny little gift

- It happens regardless any sort of schedules,   appointments or notice

- It’s an anonymous gesture to help stopping    the spiral of the mandatory gratitude

- The relationship created by the gift is more      important than the good itself

Micro Regali di Strada it's a project that includes open workshops where people are invited to
bring miniatures and small artifacts to give away, together we share the practice on how giftwrapping presents with care and find outdoor hidden corners to surprise passers-by
with gifts.

The workshop part is one of the core, key-moment of the relational aspect of the project to
allow a small community to share an experience that can then be materialized in a public place
and boost the possibility to establish new relationships within the territory and the
neighborhood, merging transgenerational and transcultural
communities which is an essential aspect of a highly dense populated - urban space.

Micro Regali di Strada operates to reconstitute a connective tissue between inhabitants, citizens, in which the gift helps to transform relationships and promote trust.

Gift creates a new forms of human kinship, anonymous, intimate, spontaneous, as the gift tries to mitigate what is foreign about those who are unknown for us (J. Godbout), the spirit of the giver travels with the gift itself.

I hope the project will encourage a new habit in
unconventional-relationships-making, through a metaphorical object, as the relation
created by the gift is more important than the good itself.
Until now the project has been developed so far in the city of Milan, but disruptive kindness aims to become a urban, even rural, international practice.
